Shwarma
There is a Middle Eastern food called shwarma. Actually it is called many things and it is made of many things. A revolving vertical spit made of lamb or beef or turkey or probably at times, mystery meat. It’s a kind of dish that when it’s bad, it’s okay and when it’s good it’s unbelievable. There’s a place in the heart of Greenwich Village in Manhattan that has the spit facing the street and usually a line wrapping around the corner.
I woke up this particular morning, knowing I was going to have lunch there; that wasn’t so unusual. What struck me as odd, though, was the fact that I would stop at the ATM and withdraw a few hundred dollars. It was rather odd since I

Many of us have been on a journey to peace long enough to know that it is, ultimately, an inner journey. As helpful as that revelation might be at first, it quickly becomes quite lacking. In fact, it’s as helpful as advising someone who wants to climb Mt. Everest to go up.
